At NoteKitLM ("we", "us", or "our"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension handles your data.
Short version: We do not verify your identity, we do not require a separate account, and we do not store your data on our servers. Your data flows directly from your browser to Google NotebookLM.
1. Data Collection and Usage
The NoteKitLM extension relies almost entirely on the existing functionality of Google NotebookLM.
- No Separate User Account: You do not need to create a NoteKitLM account. The extension uses your existing Google account session to interact with NotebookLM.
- Direct Communication: All content you choose to save (web pages, PDFs, YouTube videos) is transmitted directly from your browser to Google's servers (`notebooklm.google.com`). We do not act as a middleman and we do not have access to this content.
- Local Settings: We store your preferences (such as your last selected notebook ID) locally in your browser using the `chrome.storage.local` API. This data never leaves your device.
2. Permissions
We request the minimum set of permissions necessary to deliver the extension's features:

| declarativeNetRequest | To allow the NotebookLM interface to be embedded in the browser Side Panel. |
3. Third-Party Services
Google NotebookLM: This extension is a companion tool for Google NotebookLM. Your use of NotebookLM itself is governed by Google's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
